This beautiful home, designed by award winning designer Michael E. Nelson, is an instant hit with its sleek lines, modern angled features and metal roof.
The front exterior of this home is exceedingly welcoming with the angled 2-car garage and the inviting front porch. The wooden shutters also give an “at home” atmosphere to the house completing this welcoming look.
Stepping inside the front covered porch you will find yourself in the spacious foyer with a beautiful 10 foot ceiling. To your left is a hallway with built in bookshelves for a great focal point and straight ahead you can catch a glimpse into the great room. From the foyer you also have access to bedroom 2, or the guest room, which has it’s own private ensuite bathroom and large closet.
Heading into the great room you will find yourself in the wonderfully open corporate living spaces perfect for family time or gathering with friends and relatives. This open floor plan allows the kitchen, dining room and great room to flow together with out impeding walls. While these spaces do flow together you will not feel as though you are eating dinner “in the living room” as the dining area is located off the kitchen around the corner from the great room.
This great room boasts a beautiful vaulted ceiling and a masonry wood fireplace. Both natural light and a wonderful view to the rear of the home are made available by large sliding glass doors which also serve as one of two entrances to the grilling porch, the other of which is from a door in the dining room.
The kitchen is a cook, or baker’s, dream with tons of counter space and a pantry the size of a small bedroom. The island with a high bar is also a great amenity and is the best spot to grab a quick coffee and bite to eat before school or work. The attached dining room is also a great place to eat either a quick meal or a sit down family dinner without the stuffiness of a formal dining room.
On the right side of the home is bedroom 3 with a large private ensuite bathroom. On this side of the home you will also find the spacious study which makes a great home office for those who need one or a great hobby room for those who don’t!
Heading back through the foyer, and past the hallway bookshelves, you will have access to the master suite which boasts an elegant boxed ceiling and a luxurious master bath. This bathroom is complete with a tile shower, freestanding tub, private toilet room, dual sink vanity and a walk-in closet.
On the left side of the house, down the hall from the master suite, you will find the conveniently located laundry room as well as a half bath for guests. You will also find the entrance to the 2-car garage with a kid’s nook and optional basement stairs. If a basement is unneeded this can be made into a large storage closet.
Other great features of this home include:
Lots of closets dispersed throughout the home
A storage closet in the garage
Plenty of windows to allow in natural light
A Home Office
Keeping the File and Documents In One Place
A lot of people have to take work home with them. This means piles of paperwork and files that need a place to go other than the dining room table or a chair in the master bedroom.
Having a study or home office can be very beneficial. Some see this as a wasted space if it is not used each and every day. However, is it worth it to get those files out of site and organized in a way that will help you save time and effort when work does have to come home with you?
Even if you work just a few nights a week from home but always seem to be misplacing those documents you need, a home office could be something you need.
Masonry Wood Burning Fireplaces
Nothing Beats the Sound of Crackling Logs!
While a masonry fireplace can be a bit of an expensive investment you wont regret it if you love the atmosphere of a wood burning fire. A gas fireplace is cheaper and more convenient than a wood burning fireplace. (I mean what is more convenient than pushing a button or turning a nob?) But to most it just can’t beat the feeling of hearing the wood crackle as it is consumed little by little by those mesmerizing flames. Watching the flames dance across the wood in your fireplace can be the coziest atmospheres on a cold winter night.
