Published at November 07 2024 by JFord

Today was the first day of truly, proper fall weather. As in, it’s cold and raining and the wind is blowing like crazy. Around here, we don’t get the pretty side of fall very often. More often than not, we end up with either super cold temperatures and rain or super-hot temperatures and rain. Either way, its going to rain. We tend to look for beauty outside of our surroundings during this time of year.

Like looking at some really great house plans! We are looking at the Top Ten Best Selling house plans of 2019 and this time we’ve got some really pretty ones.

7. The Country Retreat (MEN 5048)

The Country Retreat (MEN 5048)The Country Retreat (MEN 5048) Floor Plan
This country house plan gives you 1,800 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. This plan grabs you as soon as you see that lovely covered porch. Talk about curb appeal! This plan gives you that in spades. On the inside, this home continues to deliver with an open floor plan that combines the great room, dining room and kitchen. Don’t forget the master suite with its gorgeous vaulted ceiling!

As you approach the home, the first thing that you notice is the covered porch that stretches across the front of the house. This porch gives you a perfect space to rest and relax from a hard day of work or to simply sit and enjoy a beautiful day.

As you step into the home, you immediately find yourself in the great room. This area of the home is part of an open floor plan that includes the great room, dining room and kitchen. The great room features a lovely vaulted ceiling and brick work fireplace. You can have optional built-in shelving included into this plan to bracket each side of the fireplace and really turn it into a centerpiece.

Moving further into the home, you find yourself in the dining room and kitchen. The dining room gives you plenty of space to entertain and have cozy family dinners and opens up to the grilling porch on the rear of the home. The grilling porch mirrors the covered porch on the front of the home and stretches all the way across the rear of the home.

The kitchen is separated from the dining room by the “L" shaped island. This island gives you bar seating for 4 and includes loads of counterspace for prepping and cooking. The kitchen sink features a window that faces out onto the rear of the home and makes sure that you have a great view while you are elbow deep in suds.

To the left of the dining room is the laundry room. For a small house, this laundry room certainly delivers. It features hanging storage over the washer and dryer hookups and a soaking sink to help get rid of those really tough stains.

Directly across from the laundry room, you will find bedroom 2. This room gives you a large closet with plenty of hanging space and a window that faces the front of the home. On this same side of the hallway you will find the hall bathroom. This is shared by bedrooms 2 and 3.

Bedroom 3 sits directly across the hall from the bathroom and features a window that faces out on to the rear of the home and a walk-in closet.

The rest of the home is taken up by the master suite. The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling and a large double casement window that looks out over the front of the home. To the right of the master bedroom is an entrance to a small office. The master bath features both a shower and a whirlpool tub and an entrance to the walk-in closet.

6. Angler’s Lodge (NDG 1402)

Angler’s Lodge (NDG 1402)Angler’s Lodge (NDG 1402) Floor PlanAngler’s Lodge (NDG 1402) Floor Plan
This luxurious rustic house plan gives you everything you would ever want in a cabin or a mansion. This plan gives you just over 2,500 square feet of living space with 5 bedrooms and 4 full baths. The plan features a massive great room and with a large kitchen that has plenty of space for entertaining and dining. The outdoor living space in this plan is almost as large as the indoor living space, so if you love to entertain outdoors this is definitely the plan for you. Be sure to check this plan out on our website. There are some fantastic photos that were sent to us by one of our happy homeowners.

As you approach the home, the first thing that you notice is the covered porch with stone accents. This large porch covers almost the entire length of the home and sets the stage for the rest of the home. Stepping into the home, you immediately find yourself in a large open space.

This open floor plan is comprised of the great room and kitchen. The great room features a large fireplace on the left wall of the space. The great room also gives you large windows to the rear and front of the home. French doors grace both entrances.

The kitchen is separated from the rest of the space by the dining area. This area gives you plenty of room to entertain and also lends itself to quiet family dinners. The kitchen itself features many countertops including an entire prep area against the rear wall of the home.

The kitchen also features a large corner pantry with space for even the largest shopping trip. The island gives you bar seating for 6 and the kitchen sink for washing up. I love it when the kitchen sinks face the area where the kids are going to be. This means you can keep an eye on them while you are washing up.

On the rear of the home you will find a large covered porch. This covered porch gives you a great place to entertain even on those days when the weather doesn’t want to cooperate. The covered porch features a grilling kitchen with its own sink for cleaning up, so you don’t have to bring greasy utensils into the house.

On the right side of the home, you will find bedrooms 2 and 3. Both of these spaces features large windows that open up to the rear and front of the home, respectively. Bedroom 2 gives you a separate entrance to the grilling area on the covered porch. These rooms both have large closets and their own linen closets and share the hall bathroom.

On the other side of the home, you will find the master suite, the stairway and the laundry room. The laundry room is off of the great room and gives you plenty of counterspace for folding and sorting as well as a sink to wash delicate.

The master bedroom gives you a lovely vaulted ceiling, a large window that faces the rear of the home and a separate entrance to the covered porch. The master bath gives you double vanities, a large storage closet and a large shower. Don’t forget the walk-in closet!

The second floor is broken into two spaces. The first is above the main section of the first floor. This area is access from the stairway behind the large fireplace in the great room. This loft area features a balcony that overlooks the great room with large windows facing both the rear and front of the home. This brings in loads of natural lighting.

The rest of the loft area is one large room which can either be used as a bedroom or as a bonus room of some sort. There is also a separate bathroom on this floor for convenience.

The other part of the second floor is actually over the garage. This is a guest loft. The guest loft gives you plenty of space for someone to stay over for a long term. It would also be great for an older child. (College is already so expensive, why pay for a dorm?)

The loft features a full kitchen area with a refrigerator and sink and space for a microwave. The bathroom is setup to be a full master bath with a double vanity and large shower.

5. Crescent Manor (MEN 5078)

Crescent Manor (MEN 5078)Crescent Manor (MEN 5078) Floor PlanCrescent Manor (MEN 5078) Floor Plan
This traditional house plan gives you 1,900 square feet of living space with 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths and 1 half bath. This home gives you the appearance of a small French country manor and lends an air of elegance whether you are in the middle of the urban sprawl or out in the countryside. This home features an open floor plan with a large great room and kitchen. The master bathroom in this home gives you plenty of space to relax after a hard day.

As you enter the home, you find yourself in the foyer. This entry way gives you access to the open floor plan that includes the great room and kitchen. These two spaces have a lovely vaulted ceiling and exposed faux beams across the space lending a rustic sophistication to the home.

The great room features a large fireplace along the left wall and a patio door/window set that opens up to the grilling porch on the rear of the home. The kitchen is separated from the great room by the large kitchen island.

The kitchen island features seating for 5 and space for a sink. I love when the sinks face the direction of where the kids are going to be. This lets you clean up and keep an eye on things at the same time. The other side of the kitchen gives you plenty of counter space and a large pantry to store goods from even the largest of shopping trips.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining room. This room gives you windows on two walls letting in plenty of light and setting the stage for family gatherings and social get-togethers. On the other side of the kitchen is the kid’s nook.

The kid’s nook comes in off the garage and gives you a perfect space for hanging up those bulky winter coats and peeling off the wet shoes. Adjacent to the kid’s nook is the laundry room. I love that the laundry room is right inside the door. And there is an optional entrance from the laundry room into the master suite!

This is perfect for those who have “dirty jobs". All the men in our family do this kind of work and it is so much easier just to get rid of the mess before you move further into the house. The laundry room features storage over the washer and dryer and a sink for soaking and rinsing.

The master suite can either be reached through the dining room or, optionally, through the laundry room. The master bedroom features a vaulted ceiling with a large window that faces the rear of the home. Moving into the master bath you will find a double sink, a freestanding tub, corner glass shower and the entrance to the walk-in closet.

On the other side of the plan you will find bedroom 3, 4 and a bedroom that can also double as an office. Bedrooms 3 and 4 both have large windows that face the front and rear of the home, respectively. The bedroom that can double as an office features a vaulted ceiling and a large window facing the front of the home. All three bedrooms share the hall bathroom.

On the second floor you will find a half bath and an optional bonus room.
